FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about acupuncture at Dedham Acupuncture

Does acupuncture hurt?

No! We use small, flexible needles that are not painful. Occasionally you might feel a slight pinch, but acupuncture should not be painful. Most patients find it deeply relaxing — many even fall asleep during their sessions.

What should I expect at my first visit?

A thorough intake evaluation where we ask about your health concerns and overall wellness. Then you'll receive your first treatment. First visits last 50–70 minutes; follow-up sessions take 45–60 minutes.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your condition. An acute issue might respond in 1–2 visits. Chronic conditions typically need 6–8 sessions before significant improvement. We'll create a personalized plan and adjust based on your progress.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! Call our office and we can verify your benefits for you. We also handle insurance billing so you can focus on healing rather than paperwork.

Are the needles reused?

Never. Our needles are individually packaged, disposable, and used only once before being properly disposed of in a bio-hazard container. Your safety is our top priority.

What conditions do you treat?

Back pain, anxiety, fertility, head and neck pain, digestive complaints, sleep disorders, and many more. We treat the root cause, not just the symptoms. If you're unsure whether we can help, give us a call.

Do I need to believe in acupuncture for it to work?

Absolutely not! Most first-timers are skeptical, and that's completely fine. We walk you through the treatment every step of the way, and you should still experience benefits regardless of your beliefs.

Where are you located?

We're at 111 Eastern Ave, Dedham, MA 02026 — serving Westwood, Needham, West Roxbury, Boston, Norwood, Canton, Milton, Sharon, Dover, Walpole, Newton, and Brookline.
